Stem Cell Therapy for Shoulder Injuries

Your shoulder girdle is the most mobile joint in your body comprising five separate joints – and there are multiple ways it can get injured or damaged.

If you have persistent symptoms of pain, stiffness, lack of mobility or weakness, it is important to consult with a specialist for an accurate, comprehensive diagnosis.

Our team of doctors has decades of experience in diagnosing and treating all shoulder conditions and injuries.

Many shoulder problems can be resolved with physiotherapy and rest. However, for chronic and severe conditions, you may have been recommended surgery – perhaps even a shoulder joint replacement – to resolve the issue.

At London Stem Cell Clinic, we provide a cutting-edge alternative to surgery – using your body’s own healing capabilities to treat the shoulder joint and soft tissue problems.

What Shoulder Conditions Can London Stem Cell Centre Help Treat?

Shoulder Arthritis

The bones in your shoulder joint are cushioned by a layer of cartilage. This can get worn or torn as a result of a traumatic injury or through repetitive actions. Damaged cartilage exposes the rough bone surface below, leading to arthritic conditions such as bone spurs, instability, inflammation and pinching of tissues in the joint.

Treatment: our cellular therapies can help reduce pain and improve function of damaged structures in your shoulder. This includes the growth and healing capabilities of blood plasma, anti-inflammatory qualities of adipose (fat) cells or bone marrow – all harvested from your own body.

Shoulder Bursitis

Your shoulder joint is cushioned by a gel-filled sac called a bursa. This can get inflamed and swollen as a result of injury, arthritis or wear and tear – leading to pain and reduced range of motion.

Treatment: we offer physiotherapy, steroid injections and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) which engages the healing elements from your own blood to provide pain relief, reduce inflammation, help to heal the damaged tissue.

Rotator Cuff Tears

The ball and socket part of your shoulder joint is kept in place and mobilised by a tube of muscles and tendons called a rotator cuff. You may suffer a partial or complete rotator cuff tear as a result of a direct impact, wrenching your shoulder, or as a result of repetitive actions – particularly common in tennis or throwing sports.

Treatment: we offer stem cell therapy and plasma / adipose injections. Stem cells from your bone marrow are used to stimulate regeneration of cells that otherwise would not regrow easily (particularly cartilage, ligaments and tendons which have a poor blood supply). PRP (platelet rich plasma) uses the healing properties of your own blood platelets to help repair damaged tissues in your rotator cuff.
